PLEASE NOTE - NOVEMBER 3 - NOVEMBER 5, 2014
The Stowe Water Department will be flushing the water mains and hydrants in the village area beginning Monday, November 3rd and continuing through Wednesday, November 5, 2014 beginning with the largest distribution mains on Maple Street continuing through Main Street ending at the Stowe Highway Department on River Road.  Flushing of the smaller side street mains and hydrants will continue, working in the same pattern until all hydrants have een flushed and excercised.  This is a necessary process that will help ensure the overall quality of the water and that of our distribution system.  Discolored water will be experienced due to the n aturally occurring minerals and sediments that are disturbed by the flushing process.  If this should happen, please let your cold water run for several minutes until it runs clear.  We do not recommend laudering light white colored clothing if your water is discolored during this period.
